I am following this story as it makes its way through the courts. If the claims are accurate, students that were/are in legitimate need of financial aid are being shortchanged, and in turn, either accumulating more debt or postponing/rethinking their education plans, or both. The US has some of the highest university and college costs of attendance in the world, so to see students who have worked extraordinarily hard to be admitted at these institutions to then have to incur additional unnecessary costs is unconscionable.
