This recent Forbes article highlights how AI is reshaping university admissions and how these changes may impact future applicants.

While colleges are using AI to improve recruitment, identify strong applicants, and often do an initial review of student writing, admissions staff also becoming more cautious about AI-generated essays and still value personal voice and authentic storytelling—and can often tell when an essay lacks it.

The key message is that while AI is essentially everywhere, students could use AI tools to organize and brainstorm, but that their essays should reflect their own experiences, perspective, and be written in their voice.

At WUC, we continue to guide students on how to use AI effectively and ethically as this technology continues to advance.
