While working with students and families for many years, I have always been happy to support students and their applications goals. Cost, however, for international students, is increasingly becoming a huge factor, and making many families stop and think, is approx. 400k US justifiable for an undergraduate degree? Just earlier this week, I had a student back away from an offer at NYU because the family felt it could not manage the cost of 100k + cost per year when all of the budget items were factored in. Education will always be an investment for the future, but with several schools now approaching the 6 figure mark in the US, students are increasingly looking elsewhere for less costly options.
