In reading this article, it’s clear to me that the role of the SAT/ACT in admissions will continue to evolve. I also echo the comments of the high school counselors quoted in the article, as it is more difficult to provide clear advice and direction to students experiencing the application process recently. I urge all institutions accepting SAT/ACT results to be very clear about how it impacts the applicants so both students and counselors have insight as to how to proceed. I also remain hopeful that with time, the use of the SAT/ACT will gradually decrease, especially when a student is already providing evidence of having done well on externally graded curriculum like the IB, AP. or A Levels.
